Obsession with Arcona

I've fallen in love! Arcona skincare is seriously amazing in so many ways.

Working in retail cosmetics gives me some wonderful opportunities to attend trainings about other lines that we carry in the department. They are fairly quick, little classes that are held right there on the sales floor or in one of the back storage rooms presented by a rep from the company and we call them "stay and plays". I make a point to always attend when I hear there is one going on. I recently had the opportunity to go one for ARCONA and I was so excited to learn about this line that I had heard great things about, but personally had no experience with.
Let me start out by saying that
 ARCONA PRODUCTS CONTAIN NO...
petrochemicals, binders or fillers, chemical stabilizers, parabens, sodium lauryl sulphates,
perfumes, dyes, or any other caustic, toxic ingredients.

Whoa- that is seriously impressive!

I got to dive right in and learn about their Basic 5 Regimen that is the core of their products. The system is customized by skin type and includes these 5 steps:
AM: Exfoliate/ Cleanse, Hydrate, and Protect
PM: Cleanse/ Tone, and Regenerate.

Next we were introduced to a couple of other products they offer... The Triad Pads, Wine Oil, and the Wine Hydrating Mask.

Ok I don't want to turn this into a boring recap of my training so I am going to jump to why this is my latest obsession...
This stuff works wonders!!! Doesn't have any harmful crap in it!!!! And I already see results!!!

I was given sample sizes of the product based on my skin type to do the Basic 5 Regimen for a week, along with the triad pads, wine oil and Wine Hydrating Mask. I am currently 3 days in and my skin looks clearer, feels smoother, and I swear I am glowing (In a good way- not in a sweaty/ greasy way like usual!). I seriously was not expecting this.

My stand out favorites from what I was given to try are definitely the Wine Oil (I use it at night before my hydrator) and the Cranberry Gommage. But seriously the entire system works so synergistically together that I am planning on purchasing a kit so I can continue the whole she-bang.

Have any of you tried any ARCONA products? Leave a comment I would love to hear about it!

Here is the travel size version of the kit I got samples of. Retails for $87

I have a dream…

Goals for my business and this blog- because sometimes it feels like the first step to making things happen is to clearly write out what you want. Posting it makes it that much more real.
Someday I would love to have my own makeup studio. A fun space where clients can come and hang out, get their makeup done, and leave feeling gorgeous. This studio may be stocked with a makeup line that I believe in and feel proud to recommend, or it may eventually have my own brand. When I am not working in my future studio I want to continue to do bridal beauty and provide on location services for my client's special events. Something that would be wonderful would be to create an artist's network and build up the sense of community between all the wonderful fashion & beauty photographers, wardrobe stylists, hair and makeup artists that call San Diego home. I know I can't be the only one that is tired of having to go to LA for work. If we build it here in San Diego they will come.

Girl Heart Babble

Borrowed this heading from my friend and fellow makeup artist Julia Kaye. It perfectly described what it is that I have in mind for this blog.
Not on a schedule. Not trying to be the next anything... Just trying to be the myself.  I may babble about products, recent gigs, even what it takes to be a makeup artist in this ever changing industry. Basically whatever is in my heart at the moment.
Looking forward to the journey!
Hope you join me!!

Is there anything that you would love to see from me? Please comment below and let me know

    Who am I

    The real me…

`1Nothing frustrates me more than not being good at something.

    What I do

I am a makeup artist by trade. Doing mostly makeup for branding and print shoots. It is not lost on me that I am very fortunate that I get to do something I love for a living. I also teach makeup to aspiring makeup artists and found a deep passion for teaching and sharing about this industry. Another aspect of the makeup world that I truly enjoy is testing out and learning about products and tools.
